Content generation for a narrative game
Below is an example of the applications of this tool for one of our clients on an unannounced project.
Context
The player is a journalist in an open world, in which every decision they make has narrative consequences.
Technology
We used our dialogue generation tool to enable personalization and depth of character speech. Working closely with the narrative design team, we created a matrix of tags. These are connected to the character and narrative context, enabling content to be rapidly generated for each NPC according to the player's choice.
Results
The client gained an interactive dialogue generation tool that could rapidly create content for each character in each context. This dramatically speeded up the development process, and allowed them to create far more storylines than would have been possible otherwise. The experience for players felt seamless and responsive.
Voice generation
Text-to-speech (TTS) uses computational algorithms to convert written text into spoken words. Input your sentences and our technology will generate audio files for the characters in your game.
Select the language, speaker, emotion, pitch and speed to customise the voice of your characters. This could be used in the final game, or to generate placeholders, saving time in the production process. Our tool is best used with real voice actors who licence their voices for productions, and we provide guidance to our clients on how to ensure actors are given fair and equitable deals for voice licensing. Our tool can be adapted to work with the actors of your choice.

Voice generation for an RPG narrative game
Below is an example of the applications of this tool for one of our clients on an unannounced project.
Context
The client is a team of developers working on an RPG in a fantasy setting, drawing on mythology to create a rich world. They’re in the early prototyping stage and are actively seeking funding from publishers and investors, and need to develop materials to support their applications. They have limited resources and time, but want to make a polished demonstration of the game’s potential.
Technology
The team used the Ariel (voice generation) tool, with the initial goal of generating placeholder voices for use in a vertical slice and trailer. The tool’s Text to Speech capabilities allowed them to rapidly iterate, using a combination of synthetic voices and those provided by team members who did not have the capacity to do a full recording.
The Audio Lead actually provided a voice themselves!
Results
The team were able to use the Ariel tool to create polished, professional content with which to approach investors and publishers, gaining extremely positive feedback.

Facial animation for an RPG narrative game
Below is an example of the applications of this tool for one of our clients on an unannounced project.
Context
A studio making a role playing game who was in the early stages of development and needed to efficiently create a playable prototype to engage potential funders.
Their game, which had a narrative emphasis, included a high number of non-player characters which would normally have been impossible to animate under the time and budget constraints of an early stage vertical slice.
Technology
The client used a combination of the Ariel (voice) and Gepetto (animation) tools to generate voices and develop the facial animations of the characters in their game.
The game’s artistic director gave X&Immersion flat illustrations of ten different emotional states for a character. Using Gepetto, we were able to map those emotional states onto the rigged character model, working hand in hand with animators to create moving, non-baked idle animations. These can then be tweaked by the game team as needed.
They were also able to use the tool to create accurate lip-sync animations for the audio they produced using the Ariel tool.
Results
The client was able to develop more extensive animations more rapidly than would have otherwise been possible without the use of Gepetto. They used these for early prototypes and a vertical slice, as well as initial promotional material. This meant they could give potential investors a far more accurate portrayal of the final product than would have otherwise been possible within their time and budget constraints.
